Alternative title: Wood you like to know what I listened to in 2011?

Another year, another list! 2011 was the year of the mustache, buying a car, running races, and it was the first year that I haven't been in school since 1990. I worked a lot this year, and didn't put in quite as much effort in seeking out new music as I did in 2010, so this list will be a bit shorter. However, There were quite a few enjoyable records put out this year by bands I've already been listening to.

Earth - Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1

This is pretty badass. Earth has always had good album art, and this is no exception. Continuing with last year's theme of 'Demons and Evil Shit', this cover features two evil looking dudes with horns. What's not to like?

Another year has passed, so, for the second time ever, I decided to put everything together.

This year my taste of music represents a bit of hip-hop, acoustic, rock, indie, soul, alternative, singer-songwriter, jazz, funk, electronic, chill, surf, blues, neo-soul, folk, underground hip-hop, indie rock, instrumental hip-hop, chillout, instrumental, trip-hop, alternative rock, pop, reggae, beats, swing, indie pop and jazz hop.

From February till July I enjoyed my time living in the beautiful city of Utrecht, The Netherlands, where I was an ERASMUS exchange student at the Utrecht University. Since I lived in a huge flat for five months with 11 awesome people from all over the world, this year my charts doesn't reflect the music I was actually into.

I was listening to lots of classic rock, like Led Zeppelin or The Beatles, together with Martin, Samuli, Dori and others we even did a jam session, and, of course, we were jumping to tracks like Hello and Like A G6 while attending Club Poema or Tivoli. …

I dislike both of them but props for listenin to a lot of stuff and lettin me kno about some releases. Def not the case with most guys who listen to 7-8 new albums and argue which the album of the year is. It's interesting that they are the only two complete and diverse lists about 2011 rap albums I've come across, but they're completely different from mines and completely different from each other.

I'm so speechless that I don't even know how to start this. I've been writing every February 6th my last.fm birthday journal, but last year I totally forgot. This year I'm only one day late.

So this is the 5-year mark for me. If my last.fm account was a child, she would tease all the boys in the kindergarden at the moment I suppose. Last.fm has been an eye-opener many times during these years. Nowadays I just don't scrobble that much, so I'm not gonna throw any statistics on last year artists or tracks. I just tell you guys how I feel.

Last year I TOTALLY fell in love with Seattle hiphop scene. I did listen to Blue Scholars, Common Market and Macklemore earlier too, but now my knowledge and love on Seattle is beyond the words.

Macklemore with his producer Ryan Lewis are the hottest duo right now for me. I've been hyping Atmosphere of course too cause it's my all time favorite. I'm not unraveling too much, so you should just listen yourself. …
