ether space

Blood Ruby creates atmospheric alternative music somewhere in the vein of dream pop, ethereal, and neoprogressive rock. The band met online in the cyber ether space between Chicago Ill and New Haven Conn. Two subtly emotive female vocalists ply a range that spans from lyrical, sweet mezzo, to smoky, jazz-rooted alto, delivering haunting melodies and crafted lyrics full of evocative imagery and cinematic storytelling. Spacious mixing and production lend prismatic detail to the music’s lush instrumentation. The result is a textured, layered sound that takes listeners on an ambient, often dark, and sometimes epic journey through drifting landscapes of emotion, strange places, and complex characters.

Blood Ruby consists of Cynthia Conrad (vocals), Margaret Browning (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards), and Thomas Wall (guitar, bass, keyboards, programming, engineering).

Blood Ruby benefits from a combination of in-house talent and training in production, music, writing, and marketing. Thomas’ degree in audio and visual production and his experience as an audio engineer are key to the band’s overall sound. Both Cynthia and Margaret have undergone various degrees of training in voice, music, and music theory. Furthermore, Cynthia’s education in literature and creative writing are evident in her seasoned lyrics and skilled songwriting, while her professional marketing, promotion, and public relations experience have given this Connecticut band international grassroots exposure.

I`ve yet to hear tracks 8 thru 13 . If I had to pick a favorite song at this juncture it would Definately be Sleepwalk , Even though Remains of the day is more suited to MY style of listening. My reasoning is this. From what I can tell from my few listens so far is that the MUSIC as far as INSTRUMENTS are concerned, takes second place to the vocals. (Wich are both beautiful And awesome ) The Vocals on Sleepwalk are superb . Plain & Simple ! I do wish that they used a Tad more shoegaze style in the music,I actually love the harder stuff . But it`s no problem for me because EVERY track that I`ve heard is a track that I Love !
