About this album

“The Curse Of Blondie” is the eighth studio album by American new wave band, Blondie. “The Curse Of Blondie” was released on October 13, 2003, despite the fact that it’s release was delayed due to lost master tapes from luggage, and the events that occurred on September 11. The album charted at No. 36 in the UK, and No. 83 in the AU, making it Blondie’s lowest charting album to date. Deborah Harry and the band even started recording for the album almost immediately after the release of their previous album, “No Exit”. Though this album was rejected by most all critics, the album did spawn the dance hit, “Good Boys”, (UK: #12; AU: #37), which was the band’s first single since 2000’s “No Exit”. “Good Boys” had an accompanied music video, that was filmed in mostly black and white, but during the bridge, it reveals the only other color images of Debbie singing. Due to “Good Boys” hitting the Top 20 in the UK and the Top 10 on the and US dance charts, there was another single planned, “Undone”, however, Sanctuary Records refused on giving it a release as a single. Among the other tracks, “Shakedown”, a rap that didn’t have the audience agree with it, referring to Debbie’s vulgar language in the song, though, the band stated that, “It was supposed to be funny”. The rest of the album is practically dominated by elements of rock.
