Biography

BlackboxRed -from Leeuwarden, The Netherlands- is loud, grunge, sexy and danceable.
Eva plays the guitar as if it were on fire and Stefan smashes his drums, whilst a mysterious chemistry floats between them. It’s time to dance to the grunge!

With just the two of them they make a raw combination of dancable grunge, blues and electro. With their strong DIY-attitude they achieved alot in a short amount of time. Influences come from lots of different styles of music, such as The Dead Weather, Crystal Castles and The Joy Formidable.

In the winter of 2011 BlackboxRed released their first EP “Battle the Sparrows” that in spring 2012 was also released in the UK. With their debut in hand they toured the UK at least 3 times, played several German festivals and went all the way up to Denmark. The EP received both national and international positive reviews and is almost sold out up to this day!

For now the band feels it’s time for a new record. In the spring of 2013 BlackboxRed will lock themselves up in the country-side of Northern France to write and record their debut full-length.
The release date will be after the summer of 2013. Up to then everyone can enjoy them at one of their live-shows and of course get their hands on one of the last copy’s of “Battle the Sparrows”.
