Cover Me (3:04)

“When me and Nellee (Hooper) decided to work together again on Post, I wrote this to him. I guess I was trying to make fun of myself, how dangerous i manage sometimes to make album making. And trying to lure him into it. but it is also a admiration thing from me to him. I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else.”

About the cave & bats version of the song: “I did climb in a dark cave and sing the vocal for Cover Me. I have to credit Nellee Hooper with that idea though. He did it as a treat. Put me blindfolded in a car and when I got to the cave, he had headphones and generators set up with the song and I sneaked in and sang it in one take. One of my favourite experiences ever. Yes, there were bats there.”

Listening to this right after "I Miss You" is like being sent to another world. Where have you taken me now, Björk? [2]

I got the cave vibe the first time I listened to it but the I interpreted the fluttering sound as a small bridge suddenly collapsing into an abyss... like a small system of tunnels and paths and shit.

There is something very shrine-painted, mysterious and penetrating about this song. By 'shrine-painted' I mean it reminds me of the unknown possibilities painted within a golden shrine to forever exist. Even if one doesn't activate them.

She actually recorded this in a Cave by herself! The bats sounds are real.
