Members of Gaza, Pilot This Plane Down and Day Of Less. Bird Eater was formed in 2004 after half of Day of Less (DOL) had moved on. Last drummer for DOL, Kel, and new guitarist Tino joined remaining original members of DOL, Chris and Jon, with new sounds and intentions. 1 member of Bird Eater is a former member of Gaza, while 2 others currently play in Gaza.

The Utah EP was released on Exigent Records and is currently the only released material that exists. New recordings are in the works and will be out shortly on a bigger label, though it is not yet clear who is picking them up.

Andddd this is where things get confusing for me. Bird Eater finally released their full length and it seems like Jon (ex-Gaza) is still on this along with some current mem(z?) of Cult Leader. Yet we look at the Cult Leader AND GAZAMUSIC facebook page and get some hints that Cult Leader members don't want anything to do with Jon anymore (the members section doesn't have Jon listed, their info section says "Now actually bull shit free.", and Cult Leader's says "We once were another band, and now we're a better one."). If anyone has any insider knowledge on all of this please shoot me a message. Gaza was one of my favorite bands and I really hate not knowing all the details.

I love Cult Leader, but god damn, Bird Eater is so much better. Wish they would tour.

Sad their so unpopular, even on an underground standard. But i'm sure the right ears know to worship this. Dead Mothers Make The Sun Set is one of the most incredible albums i've heard all year.

About time we got a new album. It doesn't disappoint either, both melodic and brutal. I love it!

So, do you guys think they'll release the finished album (which was said by people at BlackMarket to be finished) as is? or do you think they'll have Cult Leader's singer do new vocal tracks?

pretty sure i remember jon saying he'll be "finishing up the Bird Eater material before a new Gaza album comes out". Gaza came out with a new one, Bird Eater....?

Would love to hear more from these guys but I doubt we'll see it soon now that Gaza's released the record of the year.
