Binti consists of six singing sisters. Hadiel, Yasmin, Amina, Rana, Sherien and Fedia Holail Mohamed grew up together with a passion for music. This passion made them decide a few years ago to unite their voices: Binti was born. For this name they let themselves be inspired by their Egyptian roots. Binti means ‘my daughter’, ‘my girl’ in Arabic. Binti started mainly as a vocal-acoustic band with six voices, one guitar and a flute. They interpreted songs they liked in different genres from regae, over barbershop and blues. With this minimal instrumentation they got to know each other very well musically, and they started to play more often. A demo ‘Everybody loves my baby’ was recorded, which was sold out in no time. Since almost a year Binti started making its own music: the start of a new musical challenge. Therefore they extended the instrumatation. Binti decided to record its own material and planned a release of their second EP with. Curious!
