Billy Brooks is a trumpet player and composer, born August 16, 1926 in Mobile, Alabama. Died on December 24, 2002 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Brooks played with Lionel Hampton and His Orchestra and released LP Windows of The Mind on Crossover Records in 1974.

    Man, I visualized Billy Brooks looking like a badass motherfucker listening to 40 days on Dusty Fingers, but that profile picture takes the cake. RESPECT. The trumpet solo on that track is bitchin.

    Forty Days is a great song... you may recognize it from A Tribe Called Quest's Luck of Lucien from their first album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
