A Mohican Indian from northern Wisconsin, Bill Miller has long been one of the most admired figures in the Native American music arena and beyond. As an award-winning recording artist, performer, songwriter, activist, and painter, he's been a voice for the voiceless, a link between two great and clashing civilizations.

  • your music invigorates my spirit and inspires my mind. I need to hear more natural rhythms in defense against this self destructive society that overpowered the native american nation
  • ny-na, thanks for information! it was new to me :) anyone heard his newest album, chronicles of hope?
  • In response to a couple comments, the last fluent speakers of the Mohican language died in the 1960s. Members of the tribe are trying to resurrect the language by studying the related Munsee Delaware language. Bill's cousin Brent Michael Davids is a classical composer who uses Native words in his vocal music. And he's been my favorite musician since I heard him in 1995.
  • If you're a fan of Bill Miller and live in the metro-Detroit area, come see him perform for FREE at the Concert of Colors on July 17. Visit www.concertofcolors.com for more info.
  • well I didn't actually mean it that way :D but i think you got the point. anyhow it's not surprising if he can't speak the native american language, it's kinda rare these days. sad, makes you wonder what's going to happen to your own language, finnish is not spoken by so many after all.
  • Who says English is not his native language? ;-)
  • maybe his native language is not fluent? who knows. still, I love his music, he gives people great comfort.
  • sounds pretty good. but i don't like the english lyrics. why don't he sing in the native american langauge(like f.e. tudjaat)?
  • I am in love with his music!
  • vote for the new pics! :-)
