Big Ups are a punk rock band from New York City formed in September 2010. The band is comprised of drummer Brendan Finn, vocalist Joe Galarraga, guitarist Amar Lal, and bassist Carlos Salguero Jr.

Действительно похоже на Slint, особенно на втором альбоме это заметно.

I think new record is less punkish but more darker. There's a lot of noise rock with Slint-esque atmosphere. It's smth like aggression turned inside with seemingly calmness outside. It's more both noiserockish and postrocksish at the same time but less posthardcorish and punkish. It's just different album than the first one. But I still say it's noise rock today. More than Dope Body. And I don't hear any Slint-style in their sound. Maybe it has its atmosphere but not the sound. Before a Million Universes impresses with flashes of chaos and aggression, as I said before. I don't consider that features as Slint-based hooks.

I love the Slint-style vocals on that new album. Well that may be because Spiderland is the best album ever made and every artist that draws influence from the gods gets my approval.
