Big Smoo and the Trailer Park Kings is a blues band of a decidedly Texas influence based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The band centers around lead singer/guitarist Chris “Big Smoo” Andrews, whose style, sound and stage presence are the perfect centerpiece for an energetic and fun blues band. The group has evolved over its 20-plus years in existence, yet it has stayed true to its intent to provide a hot Texas-blues sound and style.

If you live in the D/FW area, you may have seen Big Smoo and the Trailer Park Kings at many of the top local festivals, including Fort Worth’s Main Street Arts Festival, the Bedford Blues Festival, Grapevine’s Main Street Days, Mayfest and others. The band has also performed at many of the area’s notable blues haunts, including J&J’s Blues Bar, Stumpy’s, The Keys Lounge, J. Gilligan’s and Jubilation.

The current band lineup is made up of some of the Metroplex’s best and most versatile musicians.

Lou Tielli shares guitar duties with Chris and is a veteran of several area bands, including the Fins, the G-Men and Titus Oates.

Darryl Davis is the bassist and a veteran of the Wild Mohicans and blues-flavored bands the G-Men and the J.B. Strut Band.

Jason Greene sets the Smoo’s groove on drums and is also a former G-Men member, as well as presently working with several other local and regional bands.

A master’s graduate from the University of North Texas, Alan Burton (the “Doctor of the Saxophone”) is an in-demand session player and live performer who brings his unique sax stylings to the Smoo.
