This album brings back memories when my dad always used to play Pun's discography exclusively. It's not exceptional as far as hip hop albums go, but it's still very good. There's a few misses here and there, and also Pun is somewhat harder to understand (like his voice isn't as clear as it is on Capital Punishment, I guess that's attributed to his weight). It was nice that there wasn't as many skits though, and he was really opening up his market, yet did a nice job of keeping his original fan base. That's what I really admire about this album, it's like hardcore hip hop that's pop-friendly (much more so than Capital Punishment), but he pulls it off effortlessly. There seems to be no compromising of music here - almost how Biggie was on his sophomore album and like Jay-Z through the years. Unlike Jay-Z though, he didn't dumb down his lyrics. Lyrically, Pun's as strong as he was on CP. I would have loved to see how the rest of his career panned out. no shouts? what in the fuck [3]
