Big D and the Kids Table est un groupe de la troisième vague de Ska formé en octobre 1995 dans la région de Boston, Massachusetts.
Ils ont tournés environs 200 spectacles par ans supportant les bands suivants : Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dropkick Murphys, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mustard Plug, Rancid, Alexisonfire, et Anti-Flag. Ils sont devenus un groupe régulier du célèbre Vans Warped Tour. Ils ont également participés en 2006 au Summer of Ska Tour et Ska is Dead Tour.
Ils ont finalement fait leur première grosse tournée en tête d’affiches à l’automne et hiver 2007, avec le Steady Riot Tour.
Ils ont tournée plusieurs versions vidéo de la reprise de The Specials, la chanson ‘Little Bitch’. Ils sont disponible sur Youtube.
- Origine du nom du groupe
Plusieurs histoires existent à propos du nom du groupe, une rumeur veut que ce sois un ami qui aurait dit à David(chanteur) que s’il aurait un groupe un jour il devrait l’appeler Big D and the Kids Table, ce qu’il aurait fait.
À un récent concert, David aurait dit que lui et quelques amis jouaient ensemble, mais pas sérieusement, mais lorsque le moment fut venu de faire un spectacle, ils n’avaient aucun nom. L’organisateur du spectacle les appella Big D and the Kids Table, et le nom resta.

Saw them last night with Sonic Boom Six and Reel Big Fish, what an awesome night! Enjoyed all 3 bands. Noise Complaint was superb on the one hand for a boogie the Strictly Rude for a smooch with my honey, this band really does have it all. First time I've seen em live and was really impressed!
