About This Track

“Diva” is the second “Sasha” single of “I Am…Sasha Fierce”. Produced by Bangladesh, its beat is reminescent of “A Milli” by rap artist Lil’ Wayne. The song peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100, and went to #1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart in the Spring of 2009.

In the song, Knowles states facts about her artistic/iconic position and clarifies her vision on the definition of the word “Diva”.

The video for this song features Beyonce walking away from a car full of mannequins and entering a warehouse, where she performs the song. Significant visual symbols in the video are the Manolo boots, curtain sunglasses, the “Diva Dance” at the first chorus, and the dollar-fan. Beyonce is also seen amongst gold mannequins similar in height and body structure.

Recording artist Ciara has made an unreleased cover of “Diva”.
