  • Sussex received 'heavy' criticism, long negative reviews & a medium to low rating in different Prog/Psych. based communities, generally arguing over labeling & the recordin' quality to back'up their 'experienced' opinions. i simply find this wrong & unjustified. i mean call it Heavy Psy., Hard Rock, whatever you want. From the point you absorb the msg. hidden within it without feelin an urge to conform this music to your "style", preferences or whatever's going on in your head ; Call it Pop Rock if you feel like it.. can't figure out how a mere 'nomination' is important when reviewing, more than the structure of the music itself, & on that basis ; i'll tell you Sussex is such a masterful composition from Start to End, well played & it's filled with heavy riffs. can't find a bad track in this set, as i can't say the 'not so good' audio quality prevent me from enjoying Sussex to the fullest. (Otherwise you/i would never enjoy obscure gems like "Cloud of Unknowing" by Dark for example..)
