There are multiple artists with the name Benighted:
1) Benighted is a French Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore band. They formed in 1998 in Balbigny, France. Benighted has slowly evolved from a blackened death metal sound, to a newer sound of brutal death metal. This is considered to be a fusion of several styles: combining groovy death-thrash riffs with black metal-ish sections, and various different styles of harsh vocals throughout their songs.
Benighted have 5 albums under their belt: 2000’s Benighted, 2002’s Psychose, 2003’s Insane Cephalic Production, and 2005’s Identisick. They released their recent effort in 2007, titled Icon. Their official website is www.staybrutal.com

Damn, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition is one of my all time favorite bands, and I completely forgot them... But yeah, there's loads of other great bands from there, basically, French metal is awesome. Still no new news on the new Benighted album last time I checked, still just in the process of writing or something.
