Trazegnies, Charleroi, Belgium

There are two bands with the name Bene Gesserit, one from Belgium and one from Australia. The name may come from the science fiction novel, Dune, by Frank Herbert (made into a film by David Lynch). In Dune, the Bene Gesserit are a secretive sisterhood whose members train their bodies and minds through years of physical and mental conditioning to obtain powers and abilities that can easily be seen as magical to outsiders. In the real world, the name “Bene Gesserit” was likely extracted from the legal Latin phrase “quamdiu se bene gesserit” = “as long as he/she shall behave himself well”.
