Not The Same (4:17)

Cover of Rockin' The Suburbs

According to Folds, “Not the Same” is based on a true story of a person he knew who, under the influence of LSD, climbed a tree at a party, stayed in the tree overnight, and when he came down the next morning was a born-again Christian.

You took a trip and climbed a tree
At Robert Sledge's party
And there you stayed till morning came
You were not the same after that

Apparently this is my 100th listen to Mr. folds, this is not true, but a great track for a centennial listen.

Hands down, the best Ben Folds song. The Luckiest also is great, but this one just grows on me more every time.

Great song. This album, once introduced to my death metal friend, turned him into a fan. Score one for Ben :)

Oooh this is a nice recording - it still sounds like it's fresh to the audience. Much as i adore this song, it's a bit of an old stoic these days!

I remember singing this in the giant audience choir in February. That was a great night.

We saw him do this live with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra... even after seeing him do it on the Ben Fold Live DVD, it was still an amazing thing to be a part of.
