"here's to the time we didn't speak it seems for years and years..." never more appropriate than now. My best friend from high school and i have lost touch, and this was an album we could not stop listening to. It really seems like we haven't spoken for years and years.

@spinningcannon: Ben use the strings of the piano to do this sound... he strums it like a guitar... check out some videos on youtube and you'll understand ;)

How in the world do they make that brilliant sound behind the verses? Awesome stuff, whatever it is.

On Ben Folds's 'Itunes Originals', (which I'm listening to for the first time now), this song comes right after 'Brick' and him talking about how a lot of people were pissed off about how BFF "sold out" and released a hit song. This brings a whole new meaning to this track. I haven't read Honby's book. I previously thought it was a self indulgent "man list" (as Stephen Fry called it) but I think I might just give it a read after reading these comments.

This is one of my favourite BF5 songs, even though it's quite different to the rest of their stuff.

this was a favorite for me long before Hornby wrote on it, but his essay on this song was so spectacular it made me cry. there is something soothing about reading someone's opinion on something and seeing how close it is to your own. breathtaking, really. glad so many of you found this song thanks to him. kudos!
