Ben Mills is 27 years old, from Kent and has been the director of his own marquee company for the past four years. Prior to entering the X Factor his claim to fame was putting up a marquee for Jools Holland.

Ben is very musical and can play both the piano and guitar, he has a diploma in music and has been singing for 20 years. Before reaching the final 12 he sang in pubs and clubs, with his biggest gig being the Guildford Folk and Blues festival.

Ben’s musical influences are Joe Cocker, Tom Waits, Rod Stewart and David Bowie and during the auditions, Sharon Osbourne was amazed by the power of his voice. She claimed it was very distinctive and it could be easily recognised on the radio.

Ben's been recording a second album and performed a couple of new songs during a 3 day stint in the Music Room at Pizza Express in Maidstone last weekend. They are both absolutely awesome and if they are an indication of what's to come, then this album is going to be truly wonderful.
