About this album

The second album from Beltaine’s Fire, Liberty is both more Celtic and more Hip Hop then ‘Weapon of the Future’. The sound is markedly different, not only because of the addition of K8R (Cello & Mandolin) & Cozy T (taking over on the drums), but because the band has matured and gotten comfortable enough in the fusion to experiment and reach out and bring in a wider range of sounds.

Influences on this album range from Ozomatli to Portishead, the Wolf Tones to Utah Phillips to Rage Against the Machine. It’s a brave mix, but one that works precisely because it’s so bold.
