  • Thanks @Ulfherjar, though I found the watchmaker song a bit limp compared with the beat and life in the Bellowhead song.
  • If you like this I'd recommend http://www.last.fm/music/The%2520Clockwork%2520Quartet/_/The%2520Watchmaker's%2520Apprentice?ac=watchmaker's%20a which I believe is free to download from their website.
  • First heard on Christmas Folk on BBC4. Bought latest DVD. Love it!

  • wellworth listening to,
  • I guess they sound alike because they are all water drawn from the same musical and stylistic well. Blues music is 3-chord I-IV-V in structure, country music very much the same but still some great songs being written. Bellowhead are terrific, with some great invention and the addition of brass adds a whole new dimension.
  • why do so many of these Folk songs share the same tune, this sounds like another i know but cant think of at the moment, its good stuff though,I have a copy of Burlesque somewhere and live about twenty miles from the fakenham as mentiond in I think its Fakenham fair or square, new material out now may catch them on tour.
