Biography

THE BELLMER DOLLS Deemed “underground goth-noise royalty” by the venerable Village Voice, The Bellmer Dolls relate”…twisted tales of debauched abandon and lust” (NY Noise). Onstage, their dark, bass-driven, depths-of-hell music emerges with an intense physical energy (Paper Magazine, April 06). Their debut EP, The Big Cats Will Throw Themselves Over, produced by Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, The Cramps, etc.) is due out on Hungry Eye Records June 6th; it’s poised to surpass the remarkably high standards set by these veterans of Love Life, Universal Order Of Armageddon, and The Vanity Set.

Depends whether your idea of deathrock is limited to Christian death, Gun club and 45 grave or whether it extends to birthday party and related inspired bands? They sound like deathrock the way i see/hear deathrock but i'm no expert. I just can't imagine making a folder entitled 'Gothic influenced trash/post-punk/noiserock' might struggle to find stuff that isnt in my deathrock folder...

Deathrock, no. Not everything on Hungry Eyes is deathrock, as a matter of fact, only like 2 bands. The Skabs and Black Ice, really. The Bellmer Dolls are more gothic influenced trash/post-punk/noise rock.
