Biography

Belgradeyard is a band off-shoot of the Belgradeyard Sound System collective, which had been active from 2003 to 2007.

The band has been playing an intense mixture of electronics and acoustis instruments in the key of “fire music” and free jazz, a balanced combination of pre-determined tracks and improvisation. They have held 60+ concerts, out of which 90% took place out of the borders of their native Serbia. These included highly prominent appearances at festivals such as Ring Ring (Belgrade), Musikprotokoll (Graz), Clubtransmediale (Berlin), NuMusic (Stavanger), No Jazz (Zagreb), Izzven JAzz (Maribor), Progress (Ljubljana), Palic Film Festival (Subotica), Wien Modern (Vienna) and many other gallery thetare and club concerts around Europe.

The project had several releases produced by Goran Simonoski (aka Piece of Shh…) on labels such as Cosmic Sounds, Klangkrieg, Earsugar, B 92, ORF, rx:tx and others.

Belgradeyard have also been remixed by Caribou and Xploding Plastix for their never-released 12” Yeah My Ass! - the remixes are now available on a free download release “ViceVerse” from Zero_inch: http://www.zero-inch.com/get/viceverse

Band members in the final line-up: Goran Simonoski, Relja Bobic (computers), Ivan Antic (double bass), Jamal Al Kiswani (saxophone), Andreja Miric (live video), Sonja Lonar (guest on the piano)
