Biography

Started early in 2007, BeforeThisCity strives to pursue the ambient sound of space with it’s beauty and power. The members of BeforeThisCity have not strayed from their rock roots. Though a series of band member changes has altered the face and the name of the band once known as Tragedy of Me, the music hasn’t left their hearts or their hands. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Atreyu, Pierce the Veil, Forever the Sickest Kids, Bullet for My Valentine, Dance Gavin Dance, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, In Fear and Faith, Hawthorne Heights, and Saosin. Additionally, their sound has been compared to Thursday, Thrice, Circa Survive, and GlassJAw.

The latest project for BeforeThisCity is their newly-completed, self-titled debut album, currently available to order. The album was solely funded by the monetary gains BeforeThisCity has made from touring and past record sales. They’ve poured their souls into tracks ranging from the popular but personal “Plains of San Augusta,” to the critical look at humanity that is “London Came Calling.”

In May 2010, BTC won the New Mexico Music Award for Best Rock Mainstream Song, “Plains Of San Augusta.”

With the release of the album, the boys are finding the time both to celebrate and to keep working.

As of March 2011, BeforeThisCity has entered the studio to record their sophomore album, TBA. Expect extensive touring for 2011.
