Before The Rain was first shaped in 1997 in Setúbal, Portugal, when vocalist Carlos D'Agua and guitar player Valter Cunha began to share musical ideas that ended as acoustic songs. As time passed by, the acoustic sounds weren't enough to express the emotions and feelings unleashed by Valter and Carlos, and in 1998 they decided to seek the remaining members for the band.   • the clean vocals should've been more depressive. at times it sounds rahter uplifting and clashes with the mournful downbeat instrumants. im used to darker sound from other bands of the genre so this sounds a bit odd and im unable to enjoy it as much as i should. maybe i'll get used to it if i listen to them more

  • amazing death doom...though I see and hear a clear Anathema influence, I have seen some people take quite large liberties on that. Going as far as saying that Frail is the album Anathema would have done after the silent enigma if they stayed more doom...They might have obvious influence and share similar elements, but naw. These guys have a special sound. they take the influence and run with it.
