Before The Tides are a 5 piece Melodic Hardcore/Metal band from South Wales/Bristol UK.
Formed in January 2009 from a range of previous band projects the original line up set off to Studio 6 in May 2009 to record the first demo track ‘Burnt Bridges’ with this track recorded Tides continued writing out a full live set, playing their first live show on October 29th @ Sin City Swansea w/ Eleventh apparition and more.
With Bassist Jack Arnold and guitarist Paul Griffiths having a commitment to another band, the band slowed down as soon as it had started only playing another 5 shows in 2010 plus writing had pretty much stopped.
December 2010 called for a line up change, which brought Anthony Goddard onto Guitar and later one Gareth Perry to play bass. With the new line Tides decided to scrap all their old songs and get writing from fresh.
With 2 rough recordings Tides managed to secure 2 endorsements in late December/early January, first with Dovetail Strings, providing us with our own custom gauge strings, and the other with Artus Clothing USA.
Tides returned to Studio 6, Swindon on January 23rd 2010, for 3 days. They recorded their first 2 demo tracks, ‘Hold on to hope’ and ‘Sheltered’ now available on our myspace, at shows and free with any merch order. Along with the 2 demo tracks.
