Love the melodies and production on this. Has aged extremely well and it's short and sweet. In his top 5 best albums in my opinion.

severely underrated indeed! i can't seem to understand really, how come it is so very under appreciated, and by so many beck fans too... i've seen so many reviews deeming it as his most bland and/or uninspired work; i swear i can't come even near to conceiving how you could get such an impression as that from it! to me it is just such a deep and insightful, and truly ingenious and original piece of work, the lyrics are all just so very rich and intense, and so are the compositions the melodies and harmonies... it just boggles my mind that people'd see it as insipid in anyway...

Best album to listen to when you feel sterile, cold and alienated from the surrounding world and phenomena. [2]
