Nordland I is the eleventh full-length album by Bathory, released in 2003. It is characterized by an unapologetic return to the of Bathory's middle period, and features songs written mainly about Viking warfare. It was to be the first in a projected four-album set, but Quorthon only lived long enough to finish the first two volumes (Nordland II was the second).

  • i don't know: as big a Bathory fan as i am (i've listened to this and Nordland II so much that i can play all these songs on guitar), the songs on Blood on Ice kind of started melting together (especially "The Sword", "The Stallion", "The Woodwoman" and, to some degree, "The Lake"). Here, everything has its own feel and i don't ever get lost or feel like the music is melting together and sounding too similar
  • @JohnnyMath Don't compare Bathory and Summoning. It's kind of different style, even if both are called "epic" metal.
  • not that good unfortunately. maybe a fifth as good as Blood on Ice
  • ''It's hard to believe that this album is from 2003.'' @zanyanton Try to listen To Summoning and Caladan Brood They still doing better albums than bathory even in 2013
  • Propably most epic power/viking metal album ever. [2]
  • it's like i'm really a viking.
  • Epic , magical , dark and yet so beautiful. This has got to be one of the most epic albums of all time. 3

  • Propably most epic power/viking metal album ever.
