History makes us who we are and vice versa. Throughout the history humanity set itself goals, choose strategies and made plans. Afterwards the results were evaluated and the best concepts were used. A man named Barry Studebaker has been searching for great music concepts for years, which led him to a well hidden vault, which contained the best psychedelic music concepts of the 60’s and 70’s. After cracking the code of the vault Barry decided to renew these “golden oldies” and rejuvinate them giving them a second life. This in times where music frequently lacks of emotions/feelings. His goal? To give this old gems back their glance which they once had and which they deserve to have, so we will never forget them!!

With his “Unstrained Form” Barry Studebaker delivers a 12 track debut album. The album was put together after a long period of sampling and composing. It contains a harmonical variaty of sounds wich will let you wander of to a secret little place in your own mind.

Comparisments with artists such as DJ Shadow, Wax Tailor and RJD2 have been made by listeners of the album. Barry Studebaker admids that these artists have been a source of inspiration and adds to it: “The nieuwe wave of music, which mainly contains syntherised beats, reminded me that there is still so much organic music which hasn’t been fully appriciated yet and still needs to be. These old gems inspire me. They make me want to recreate them, pick them to pieces, dust them of and put them back together to a new whole. I love the psychedelic 60’s and 70’s so therefor I choose to use material of these ages and that genre.”

Barry Studebaker used to work by the alias Clazz. By that alias he already did several features on albums of artists such as Macronizm, Justus and De-pressie. At this moment Barry still works with two talents; Macronizm and Grijze Massa.
