Tue 17 Jun – The Fray, Barcelona, Oh Honey
I went to see The Fray
for the first time last night! The piano/pop-rock genre is a crowded one, but The Fray had their big hits right around the time I was just getting into music, and they’ve been in my top 20 bands ever since.
This was my first concert in Marymoor Park, and one of the few times that I’ve actually been to Redmond. It’s a pretty nice place for an outdoor concert – they had food trucks at the back (I got falafel which was pretty good) and the capacity is about 5,000. I estimate there were 3,000-4,000 people there. Overall it was a pretty young adult/family-friendly crowd.
My friend and I got there around 5:30, and sat at the back where there was a little hill you could sit on. There was a clear view of the stage from that spot, but the stage was a little far so for most of The Fray’s set I went and stood closer to the front. The first opening band was Oh Honey
– their music was fine, a little more folk-y than The Fray’s. …
