Balzac is a Japanese rock band formed in 1992 in Osaka. The band was founded by singer and songwriter Hirosuke Nishiyama.

From the beginning, Balzac was highly influenced by the sound and image of the famous horror punk band The Misfits and, especially during the very early years, Glenn Danzig's Samhain, adopting and combining the musical and visual style of both bands to create their own.   • v they're fantastic. Sure, they might have some aspects that could be considered "gimmicky" (I don't consider them that) but their songwriting skills are incredible. However, they're more on the catchy side, with sing-along parts and lots of group vocals/woahs, so if you're looking for something more along the lines of something like GISM, you'll probably be disappointed. There are a few heavier tracks, though. Check out the albums Beyond the Darkness, The Birth of Hatred, and the newest one Blackout.

  • I'm sorry to say this, but I don't really like the new album. It's not a complete failure, but very disappointed, especially after seeing everybody say how it's one of their best in a long time
