Musician/composer Daniel Vujanic (born january 1975 in Stuttgart) is creating electro-acoustic music. His project/band/collective BAJA is playing with textures, layers, structures and melodies from indie-, post -, & prog-rock, jazz, electronica, ambient, musique concréte, folk, improv, chamber music and pop music. The three albums “Maps/Systemalheur” (stilll, 2006), “Aloha Ahab” (arctic rodeo recordings, 2007) and “Wolfhour” (other electricities, 2008), are stylistically dealing with a constantly surprising ebb and flow, rather than being focused in a reproduction of stereotypical compositional forms and their specific genres. Album number four, “Aether Obelisk” (other electricities) is going to be released in march 2009. It will mark the final step in BAJA´s mercurial and rather suite-like “post-electronica” approach. The following formats (“Gradient”, Elixir”) will feature a different conceptual and aesthetic setting aka songs, that are rather rooted in a rock-, pop- and orchestral jazz tradition (at least before being altered electronically!). 7 albums are scheduled.

On a lot of sites, this band is characterised as entirely electronica when it only plays a small role in the songs. Jazz, experimental and instrumental for sure, but marginally electronica.
