Well, I can't forget this evening
And your face when you were leaving
But I guess that's just the way the story goes
You always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows

Thanks TrueStarband and Gsnoorky for the background story. Sad.

Agreed, True--great band--and, I think you'll agree, quite under-rated--not merely a misunderstood Beatles clone--we own the recordings--certainly, we know better--right, True?!. Ham was magnificent as a vocalist--one of the best ever. Nillson certainly was really talented, too ("Everyone's Talking")--another famous Beatles protege--he didn't write this great tune, though--that's where people are mistaken. A very unfortunate history--Apple sucked then--not to mention the band's crooked management. (As is typical of great musicians, the Fab Four weren't the greatest biz brains, either. Both bands should have put their ears to the ground and listened to earthworms for biz advice, instead!)

One of my favorite bands. The managers screwed them, two of them then went on to hang themselves.

Unfortunately, Nilsson's version is better. As for Mariah Carey's version of Nilsson's version.........plastic pop.
