Biography

Bug is a common band name and refers to more than one band.

One Bug is rock band based in Tokyo, Japan. They mix elements of synthpop, industrial, metal, punk, trip-hop and j-pop. They formed in 2001 and have been annually releasing albums and EPs.

The lineup consists of Kyo (die in cries, D’ERLANGER), on Vocals, Asaki (Guniw Tools) on Guitar, Takashi (die in cries) on Bass, and Takeshi (Valentine D.C.) on Drums.

The band originally featured SHIN MUROHIME (formally Kojima Minoru of The Mad Capsule Markets, die in cries, BLOODY IMITATION SOCIETY) and Souta Oofuruton (Oblivion Dust, Hyde) on Drums.

BUG (in all CAPS!), aka Benjamin Oluonye, is a keyboard player, songwriter and producer on Jus Like Music Records.

Another Bug is a pop-punk band based in Los Angeles during the latter half of the 1990s.
Founded and fronted by bassist Tom Murray, early Bug records featured Darryl Thompson on acoustic guitar(!) and Rob and Edward Valverde on drums and guitar.

Bug’s early work incorporated more diverse elements including acoustic guitar, saxophone, cello, and leaned more towards the “pop-” part of their genre, with laid-back Santa Monica sounds and tempos, and the odd bit of then-fashionable Red Hot Chili Peppers-style white “funk” with “rapping”.

Following the release of “Abuse”, Tom replaced the Valverde brothers with local Los Angeles fixture Anu Kirk (guitar, vocals) and John Montgomery (better known as the drummer for local faves Bottom 12).

    You must be thinking of THE Bug. BUG makes hip-hop/neo-soul with some electronic stylings. I do envy you if the biggest concerns in your life involve what some artists name themselves. Smile! Live and let live! :-)

    Go to sendspace and then put a .com afterward followed by /file/5f560e <- not sure how to fix that up. This is the solo release by Kojima Minoru (now in AA=) formally of THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS, BLOODY IMITATION SOCIETY, CREATURE CREATURE, DIE IN CRIES, BUG, ETC., He released this under a different name: Shin Murohime. Check it out. It's pretty cheese, but fun nonetheless if you want to collect all the side projects of bands you like.

    you know what, i'm not going to change my tags to ugly full-width jis romaji just because of last.fm's shortcomings. it will probably be fixed somehow eventually. in fact, if at least some people don't keep their tags written the normal way, there won't be any reason for last.fm to consider separating the artists.
