Biography

New York City (2007 – present)

Avey Tare and Kría Brekkan are Avey Tare (a.k.a. David Portner) of Animal Collective and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir, formerly of múm. The two began recording together in 2007 in New York City. Kristín also made a guest appearance on the Animal Collective album Feels, for which she was credited as Doctess. The couple lived together in New York City and performed a handful of intimate acoustic concerts in promotion of their only album Pullhair Rubeye.
