Autumn Gray have emerged from extended hibernation, blinking into the sunlight with debut album The Diary of a Falling Man in-hand.

Self-recorded over two years in a ramshackle fixer-upper in North Carlton, a bush retreat in central Victoria and guerilla-style in the bowels of the Melbourne Arts Centre, The Diary of a Falling Man is a lush DIY debut. The album brings strings, trumpets, a garage-sale harmonium, flute, piano, mobile phone, glockenspiel, synths, electronic drums, hammond organ and timpani together with the standard array of rock instruments.

Somewhere along the way, they’ve lost a member and picked up two new ones, bringing the stage mini-army to seven members. Already known for their dense live sound, Autumn Gray are looking forward to the challenge of doing justice live to their layered and diverse material.

The Diary of a Falling Man was lovingly mixed by ARIA-nominated engineer Jimi Maroudas over two weeks at Sing Sing South and mastered by Jack The Bear.
