Their debut album, “Feel It Break” (May 2011, Domino), came after a long sequence of bands for Stelmanis, representing a near ten year musical progression performing as an artist, then fleshed-out by a full band. More settled and dominant than ever, the band’s sound represents Stelmanis’ influences tightened into a shiny metal ball — pianos give way to keyboards as songs build and pull, their urgent, dark melodies arpeggiating through multiple synthesizers, wrapping themselves around Stelmanis’ voice.

I just had a very Grim thought, what if i died between now and May 17th. I'd never get to the hear the new album. This thought has really bummed me out lol.

don't want to be the dick who has the album already, nor do i want to needlessly fan the flames of expectations, but... i gotta tell someone!: olympia is definitely starting to feel like my album of the year. 'fire' is like epic and 'we become' is magical in way that are hard to explain but involve the word reggae. the lp isn't immediately mindblowing, but i've just been spinning it over and over; the production is meticulous and the stelmanis enunciation/diction is now matched by the most heartachin' lyrics. god bless 'er...
