Biography

AuSSchlag (with to capital S’s) was an early but short-lived punk rock band from Bitterfeld, GDR. They got together in 1980 to play punk rock alike to their idols Crass and the Sex Pistols, but disbanded in 1981, allegedly due to pressure from the GDR state security service. Although they didn’t exist too long, a 10-track demo was recorded at that time.
