Biography
This is an act from the heyday of “ambient” in the post-rave diaspora; i.e., the mid-1990s. From England, this came out on Worm Recordings, and was distributed in the US by Silent Records — then THE bastion of the best ambient in America. The album is amazing, and the names totally embody the sound: pulsating 303s, analog pulses, rhythms and modulations and swells and waves and crests and buttes, and beauteous melodies that are warm and soothing, but spiced with just enough minor chords and mild, technological sounding dissonance and bleeps to keep the listener on their toes.
The combination of that heightening of senses with a soothing main theme and back-beat marks, IMHO, the very very best of MUCH of music.
