The song was co-written by Ashanti and Nelly and produced by “Jermaine Dupri”, and contains elements of Elton John’s 1974 hit “Bennie and the Jets,” and the beginning of the second verse borrows the same melody arrangement as Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney’s “The Girl Is Mine” from the album Thriller. This song has become ashanti’s 22nd charted single on the Hot R&B/ Hip Hop Songs chart. Good Good is the #1 selling ringtone with more than 1,210,120 million downloads.

The accompanying video was directed by Melina Matsoukas ,and featured a cameo by her boyfriend Nelly. It premiered on July 17, 2008 on Yahoo!.

The song debuted at #9 on BET’s 106 & Park then jumped 2 spots to # 7 it’s second day. The official Universal video to “Good Good” received 700,000 views on YouTube in its first 10 days. The video has so far peaked at #4 on i-Tunes Top R&B Music Video chart
