"The Dead of The World" was disappointing first, but is now growing on me ! Great album !

I can't see why new Death and Black Metal bands can't seem to get a hold of a good logo to stay with untill the very end of their era. It's somewhat frustrating to "learn" to read their name over and over again, as they update their logo every two years.

    February 2015
  • SlaveOfN1l

I don't hear an iota of Watain influence in them, to be honest

    Yes, I know ;)

    What's going on with this new logo? I don't want a t-shirt anymore :/

this band sounds like idiots in the midlands rocks interview ... and i'm the expert in idiots.

    January 2015
  • versionfiv

sirbakedalot I can think of about 10 bands, off the top of my head that have solos fairly often. and try not to turn this into another trendy 'watain sux' fest, you can go be edgy and hip someplace else... because yes a lot stuff on Consolamentum sounds similar to Casus Luciferi. it's just fact...

    January 2015
  • Tuberkulloosi

MUCH better than those trendy Uppsala-whores.

  • OneColourBlack

Good new album. It looks like they managed to create an DSO-independent sound which is a good thing imo. Still, I expected something more grandiose

Deathless Light - finally a solo in black metal, thank Satan for that!

The German Ascension's album "Consolamentum" is so fucking good. Solid riffs everywhere and as a tight as hell sound. So damn good!

"Everyone keeps talking about how DsO influenced they are, but to be honest I hear a lot more Secrets of the Moon in them" "True that ... Especially since the vocalist is Ar (Michael Zech) from Secrets of The Moon ." The vocals are very good, however I have never been into SOTM that much (I like some of their old stuff), I prefer Ascension over the recent stuff from SOTM. Their demo is fantastic for a Black Metal band from the 21st century! The rest is very-very-very good too (but yes, I prefer the demo ;-)) Also, I don't think we can't compare them to DsO either, the music is very different, really. Some thoughts for Marianne (L.S.K.) by the way, who did some guest vocals on Consolamentum. I hope she found what she was looking for...

I agree it does have a hint of SotM but it's unique in its own way. It's quite close to Watain's Sworn to the dark as well.

    March 2014
  • osmark

I agree. I don't really hear much DsO in this other than the occasional noodling with dissonance. DsO are far more experimental (this band isn't). still pretty solid straight forward bm. \m/

  • Lvx-Fero

Really good stuff. Waiting for the new album.

    January 2014
  • Nocturnalpriest

I agree with the fact that it sounds much closer to SOTM than DsO, not only the vocals but also musically. They are one of the most impressive "recent" BM bands in my opinion. The balance between atmospheric parts and classic BM riffing is awesome, the song structures are perfect, high expectations on what's to come next...

This band is much better than I expected. A strong Deathspell omega influence with a strong twist of their own with the riffs. Very good material.

Bandcamp Shaping Structures: This is quite the debut album! Those leads are and riffs are incredibly good along with the key work that add to the aggression. The vocals are fronted well and they stand their ground pretty good on every track. The way this band plays, I'm not surprised at all that they hail from Perth..everyone is born with guitars down there. Make Them Suffer meets Sensory Amusia type of sounding band! Well worth the purchase! \m/
