Ascension Brothers is an experimental ambient band founded by Wayne Sides (keyboards and percussion) and Jake Berry (guitar and bass) in 1999. They are often accompanied by a changing roster of fellow musicians in performance and occasionally in the studio as well. James Wisniewski (flute), Max Russell (guitar), Richard Curtis (vocal improvisation), Bradley Brock (bass and guitar), Ben Tanner (keyboards), Ally Couch (improvised vocals), Kirk Russell (guitar and percussion) and many others have performed as part of the ensemble. The first album, An Uninhabited Space appeared in 1999. It was followed in 2000 by All Souls Banquet. In 2001 they released Pillar of Fire, soundtrack music for a series of plays by Ray Bradbury as performed by the Segue Theater Group. Other recordings include an expanded ensemble for the double album, The Wedding Ball, that featured a studio and a live CD.
