\/ Just saw "The Freedom Principle"at CMCA. It was completely eye-opening, generous, courageous. One of my favorites was this video of free jazz saxophonist Jemeel Moondoc playing while hanging out a window --> "Long Sorrow"

If you get the chance to see the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art's exhibit "The Freedom Principle" you totally should. It had a lot info and work done be people affiliated with AACM. I was so giddy the whole time I was there!

v Thank you for that. I just yesterday - after years of knowing about them (thanks Madlib) - grabbed "A Jackson In Your House", "Message To Our Folks", and "People In Sorrow" on a whim. Any other recommendations aside from "Nice Guys"? I'm really open to hearing how "their best" stacks up with other general stuff.

Nice Guys is a great album to start and/or continue with, it has a great range that points to almost their whole output. after about 3 decades it is still my favorite album if i had to choose only one.
