2. London hip-hop group
All hailing from the back of beyond (various Welsh valleys and Leicester backstreets), by fate 5 lads hooked up and formed the Hip-Hop group Arkane. After many hours locked in a darkened room, they came up with their debut album. A sick arrangement of live instruments, loops and characteristic vocals, Civility flows from the blunted through to the sharpest cutz. It sold out fast and they toured the UK alongside acts such as GLC, Aspects, Buck 65 and Pitman.
After various gigs and festivals Winter arrived and Arkane hibernated back at Homespun Studios and emerged in the spring with Handstylez, their last release which featured collaborations with Supanovar (Mud Family, F.L.I.P) and Prem C (Zulu Nation, Underground Alliance). Handstylez was also very well received and lead to hook-ups with Mono Clothing, air-play on stations including Itch FM and more recently a track in new British feature film Kidulthood. The film and soundtrack are out now.
The band decided to take a break last year and are now working on solo projects so keep them eyes peeled
3. Drum and bass musician from UK.
