This song, about a woman who realizes she is one of many girls in her boyfriend’s “Chain,” was written around 1953 by Don Covay, He was a R&B singer who wrote many songs that later became hits for leading acts, including The Rolling Stones (“Mercy Mercy), Wilson Pickett (“I’m Gonna Cry”), Otis Redding (“Think About It”) . Covay also recorded the song, but his version went nowhere.
