Archers of Loaf is an band which formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States in 1991 . The band consisted of Eric Bachmann (vocals, guitar), Eric Johnson (guitar), Matt Gentling (bass) and Mark Price (drums). The band released four albums before splitting in 1998.

After the band’s split, Bachmann moved onto multiple solo projects, including Barry Black and Crooked Fingers, and Gentling toured with Superchunk as an additional instrumentalist.

The band reunited in 2011 and scheduled multiple live dates throughout the year.

And, I love both Pavement and AoL, and I believe that thinking of love quantitatively is always going to be a trap- just enjoy both bands for what they are- great music. You got it all wrong if you think AoL is superior OR inferior in all aspects to Pavement!
