On May 22, 2008 Steve Hanft and Aril March released Hanft’s third musical album and March’s seventh full-length release, a joint collaboration entitled Magic Monsters.

Both collaborators have long and distinguished resumes in the creative arts.

March began her career as animator Elinor Blake on shows like Ren & Stimpy and Pee Wee’s Playhouse. She soon began makingrecordings under the name April march and picked up a cult following for her retro inspired sound.

April March’s Chrominance Decoder, produced in France by Bertrand Burgalat, was named one of the ten best CDs of 1999 in The New Yorker magazine and one of the hundred best albums of all time by the seminal French magazine Rock et Folk.

Steve Hanft is an American independent film director who started making films at the age of 13 while growing up in Ventura CA and has been working non stop for the past fifteen years and has directed over seventy music videos including ones for Beck, Mercury Rev, Primal Scream, The Cureand Stone Roses.

April March was concerned that the wrong, and unmastered version of Magic Monsters was released on iTunes and other legit download sites and has offered her fans replacement files. The way to determine whether what you have downloaded is incorrect or if what’s up on a site is incorrect is if the song “no one aroun” is an acoustic version.
