Their sound is reminiscent of:
Television, Wire, The Velvet Underground, Neu, Stereolab, Kraftwerk, Can, New Order, Spiritualised, Talking Heads.
They initially released three 10” e.ps on Surveillance, Plastic Cowboy and Enraptured.
They signed with Mute Records in 1999, releasing three albums and a six track e.p to date.
In 2010 RROOPP released a three CD retrospective, “Appliance Re-conditioned” which combined the three early 10” e.p.s, the four BBC Peel Sessions and the demos, vinyl B sides and download only tracks.
