Biography

Aoife was born in the small town of Carrick-on-Sur, in County Tipperary, Ireland. Her father was Bobby Clancy, a member of the original Clancy Brothers group that was very popular in the fifties, sixties, and so on in the USA. If you are a lover of irish music, you probably have a song or two by the Clancy Brothers. Its sad to say that all of the original group have passed on, but they have left us a legacy of many fine tunes.

One thing I always remember is that Mrs. Clancy was once asked to define music. Her response was that music was “the soul of the world”.
